Public hearing dates set for Nebraska tax study
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Lawmakers are scheduled to hear public input on Nebraska's tax system. Sen. Galen Hadley of Kearney, chairman of the Legislature's Tax Modernization Committee, announced the public hearing schedule on Tuesday. The committee was created to explore possible tax reforms.
The committee will meet on Sept. 23 at Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Sept. 24 at North Platte Community College in North Platte, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Sept. 26 at Northeast Nebraska Community College in Norfolk from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Oct. 17 at Metro Community College in Omaha, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Oct. 18 at the Capitol in Lincoln, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All times are local.
