Power Pole Damaged Following Disturbance

NORFOLK - A power pole was damaged on Norfolk's north side early this morning after it was struck by a car, whose driver fled the scene of a disturbance a few blocks away. Police Chief Bill Mizner says Trinidad Macias-Rangel, 21, was involved in an argument with another man in the 900 block of Syracuse Avenue around 2:00 a.m. He fled the scene, but was stopped after his car hit the electrical pole near 8th Street and Maple Avenue. Macias-Rangel faces charges of first offense driving under the influence, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
