Postal Comment Deadline Nears
NORFOLK - The local postal workers union in Norfolk is encouraging residents to let the Postal Service know what closing the city's mail processing center and the end of next-day first class mail delivery would mean to them. Those are among the proposals the agency is looking at to combat millions of dollars in reduced revenue. Union President Joel Jensen tells the Norfolk Daily News these efforts "will only be stopped by public input." The deadline for comments is Friday. They may be sent to the Postal Service's Manager of Industry and Outreach at 475 L'Enfant Plaza, Southwest 11th Floor North Washington D.C., 20260.
