Pickup from Pierce Auction Headed to Climate-Controlled Home
LINCOLN (AP) - The 1958 pickup that sold at a northeast Nebraska auction for $140,000 is heading to a new, climate-controlled home in southern New Hampshire. The rare 1958 Chevrolet Cameo will join 64 other mostly American vehicles in Steve Ames' collection. Ames and his wife, Joan, will set up a trust to fund the long-term care of the vehicles. They also plan to offer some public tours of their collection. The truck was among several barely driven vintage Chevrolets that were auctioned this past weekend in Pierce. The collection belonged to Ray Lambrecht and his wife, Mildred, who ran a Chevrolet dealership in downtown Pierce for five decades before retiring in 1996.
