Northeast Nebraska football fans donated more than $3,000 for the family of an injured Norfolk Catholic player at this week's Norfolk Catholic-Pierce semi-final game. Jason Love with Midwest Bank reports that $3,076.17 was collected at the Midwest Bank tent at Tuesday's night game in Pierce. The money will be added to other donations received at Midwest Bank locations for the family of Isaac Pfeifer. Isaac, the son of Neil and Becky Pfeifer, suffered a spinal injury in the November 6th football game with Fort Calhoun. He has had surgery and is now undergoing rehab at the Madonna Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln. At last report, he had no feeling in his lower extremities, but doctors remain hopeful that sensation will return when the swelling around his spine goes down. Donations for the Pfeifer family are still being accepted at Midwest Bank locations.
