Organic research looks at soil quality

CONCORD - A U.S. Department of Agriculture grant is funding on-farm research for organic farmers in eastern Nebraska.  Liz Sarno, organic specialist with the University of Nebraska’s Haskell Ag Lab, says the grant will allow organic farmers to work together on several research projects. Sarno is also working on a no-till organic project that uses crimping; and she is involved in a project to promote organic production practices on eastern Nebraska Indian reservations through the Nebraska Indian Community College.
