O'Neill Nurse Works to Raise Funds to Bring National Epilepsy Organization to Nebraska
O'NEILL - November is Epilepsy Awareness Month and an O’Neill nurse, whose three-year-old child suffers from the disease, is raising funds to help bring an Epilepsy Foundation of America presence to Nebraska. Jennifer Koehlmoos Is the former service coordinator for the Epilepsy Foundation of North Central Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska. Former, because due to reduced funding, the organization is no longer part of the Epilepsy Foundation. Koehlmoos says the loss of the foundation’s presence is a blow to those in Nebraska who suffer from the disease and their loved ones, not only because of the lost resources, but the organization was also a support group. Koehlmoos is asking for funds to help bring an Epilepsy Foundation of America presence back to Nebraska. She would especially like schools and other organizations to sponsor events she calls “purple outs” to help raise funds. You can donate or arrange and event by contacting Koehlmoos via email at EpilepsyNebraska@gmail.com or by calling (402) 340-3111.
