One Injured In Norfolk Apartment Fire

NORFOLK - One person was taken to the hospital following a Norfolk apartment fire Saturday night. Norfolk Fire Division Fire Inspector Dan Nelson says Leon Arceny attempted to put out a stove fire in his apartment at 1804 Vicki Lane with an extinguisher prior to the arrival of firefighters shortly before 9 p.m. He says Arceny was transported to Faith Regional Health Services for treatment. Firefighters encountered moderate smoke while the fire was out when they arrived on scene. They spent about 45 minutes clearing smoke from apartments on the building's third floor. Damage estimates are $2,500 dollars to the apartment and $1,200 dollars to the contents. The Red Cross was called in to assist occupants in the apartment with lodging.
