Omaha utility works to restore power to thousands

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Utility officials predict that everyone who lost power in Monday's thunderstorm should regain electricity by late Wednesday.  Crews from Omaha Public Power District and neighboring utilities have been making repairs ever since 70 mph winds in Monday's storm knocked out power to 52,000 customers.  The storm toppled trees across Omaha and damaged some buildings and vehicles.  OPPD says about 4,000 utility customers lacked electricity Tuesday afternoon around 3, so good progress is being made.  But the utility warned that its repair efforts could be hampered if another storm moves across the Omaha area.
