NSAA to consider transgender sports participation
LINCOLN - The Nebraska Schools Activities Association board in August will consider policies for allowing transgender students to participate in sports. The Executive Director of the Association, Rhonda Blanford-Green, had indicated a policy had been reached, then backed off the statement and said the board would consider the issue during its August 21st meeting. Nebraska Family Council Executive Director Al Riskowski says the prospect of allowing transgender students to compete in sports raises concerns and wonders whether the association is ignoring the physiological difference between boys and girls. The NSAA's Board of Control meets August 21st.
