NPPD Crews Reassigned to New Jersey

COLUMBUS - Crews from Nebraska Public Power District helping out with restoration work in the wake of Superstorm Sandy will be moving north. NPPD Media Relations Specialist Mark Becker reports that the 16-man crew finished up restoration work for Appalachian Power in West Virginia yesterday and are headed to New Jersey today. Becker says Central Jersey Power Light still has nearly 400,000 customers without power along the coastline in areas hardest hit by last week's storm. NPPD crews are expected to arrive in New Jersey tonight and will be assigned work tomorrow morning. They are expected to help replace thousands of poles that were broken as a result of the storm.
