Northeast May Add Two New Programs for 2014-15

NORFOLK - Northeast Community College is just one step away from adding two new programs of study for the college catalog.  At Thursday's meeting, the Board of Governors gave approval to submit the programs to the Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Post Secondary Education.  If accepted, both programs will begin in the fall of 2014.  Vice President of Educational Services John Blaylock says one of the programs is an associate of applied science program for those in the health care field: Health Information Management Systems.  The other program is called Diversified Manufacturing Technology, and provides an overview of the manufacturing industry for current employees as well as those planning to work in manufacturing.  Blaylock says the program will begin as a 16-hour certificate, with plans to expand into a diploma program or even an associate of applied science degree.
