Northeast Community College Board approves 2013-14 budget
NORFOLK - The Northeast Community College Board of Governors gave unanimous approval Thursday to budgets for the 2013-14 school year that will allow for additional staff and facilities. The owner of a $100,000 property in the 20-county area served by Northeast will pay $1.05 in additional taxes. Northeast’s general fund levy will be 7.93 cents per hundred dollars of valuation, down from this year’s 8.53 cents. But the capital improvement fund levy will increase to 2-cents, from the current 1-cent, bringing the total property tax levy to 9.93 cents per hundred. Lynne Koski, vice president of business services, says the taxes on a property valued at $100,000 will be $1.05 more this year than last. Tuition at Northeast also increased for this year – up $2.50 per credit hour compared with last year.
