Norfolk's July building permit news is positive

NORFOLK - Although new home construction in Norfolk is not at the level it was several years ago, things are looking up.  At this Tuesday's meeting of the Norfolk Planning Commission, City Prevention Manager Trent Howard said so far this fiscal year, building permits have been issued for 20 new homes, compared with 13 at this time last year. He says those permits represent an $11.4-million increase in valuation.  Howard says there is an increased interested in duplexes, both for co-ownership and for rental property. He says housing in the 60-to-100-thousand-dollar range is in high demand right now.
