Norfolk Truck Drivers Get A Surprise

NORFOLK - Over $5,200 dollars in fines were issued by the Nebraska State Patrol Wednesday in Norfolk during a surprise truck inspection. 216 violations were discovered during 52 inspections. 24 vehicles were taken out of service. Patrol spokesman Deb Collins says six drivers were not allowed to continue driving for no commercial drivers license, one for an improper commercial driver's license and one for possession of alcohol. Collins says the surprise inspections target commercial vehicles that might not travel outside the city or pass through weigh stations as part of their regular routes.
