Norfolk School Board approves budget for coming fiscal year

NORFOLK -  The Norfolk Public Schools tax asking for next year is going down four cents per hundred dollars of valuation, thanks to some financial planning and an increase in state aid.  The Board of Education approved the budget at Monday night’s meeting.  Director of Business Services Bill Robinson presented a budget that requires a tax levy of $1.04 cents for the general fund and a total tax levy, including all bond issues, $1.22.  A significant increase in State Aid, after cuts in previous years, also improved the financial picture of the Norfolk District. Robinson says the school will receive about $3.1-million more in State Aid this year compared with last year.
