Norfolk School Board Adopts Mission, Vision, Goals
NORFOLK - The Norfolk Public School Board has adopted new mission and vision statements for the district and set goals to improve student success and graduation rates. At last Monday night’s meeting, Superintendent Dr. Jami Jo Thompson read the mission and vision statements that had been worked out during a study session before the regular board meeting. During the study session, board members agreed that the mission statement should be short and succinct and easy to remember. They described the vision statement as the optimal, desired future. Goals approved by the board involve aligning curriculum with state and national standards, implementing career awareness classes in all six career clusters and integrating technology at all class levels. School Board President Brad Krivohlavek says the next step in achieving the goals will be to set up action teams and provide training.
