Norfolk Police respond to Mint Bar knife incident

NORFOLK - Norfolk Police Officers responded to an incident at the Mint Bar in which one man was reported to have pulled a knife on another person.  The officers were dispatched just before 1 a.m. Sunday.  When officers arrived, the suspect had fled.  Officers located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop.  The driver was identified as 22-year-old Marquel Callahan.  A check of his driver’s license revealed that it was under suspension.  Callahan was arrested for 3rd degree assault in connection with the knife incident and driving under suspension, as well as driving under the influence of alcohol 1st offense, refusal to submit to a preliminary breath test and refusal to submit to a chemical test for alcohol.  He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
