Norfolk Police Arrests
NORFOLK - Norfolk Police Captain Michael Bauer reports that 29-year-old Miguel Castro-Perez was arrested on Tuesday for driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under suspension and false reporting. Castro-Perez is believed to have been involved in a two-vehicle accident in the area of 701 South 13th Street. On Wednesday. Bauer says officers arrested 57-year-old Charles Wemhoff for criminal trespass. Wemhoff was allegedly trying to break into a room at the Budget Inn, 721 East Norfolk Avenue, Wednesday night and faces charges of first degree criminal trespass and obstructing a police officer. Early Thursday morning, Bauer says officers arrested 23-year-old Xacjare Rath for possession of a controlled substance, two misdemeanor theft counts and one charge of possession of stolen property. A syringe with a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine was also found in the suspects' car. The other suspect fled from the scene. Castro-Perez, Wemhoff and Rath were all housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
