Norfolk Police Arrest Suspect for Assault
NORFOLK - Norfolk Police were busy early Tuesday morning, investigating an altercation at Jake’s Bar. At just before 1:30 a.m., officers called to look into a disturbance involving a knife and gun at the bar on 1422 South 1st Street. According to Police Chief Bill Mizner, when the officers arrived, they found a man with blood on his face and shirt from a cut on his chin. Witnesses told officers the injured man had been in an argument with two other men and it got physical. A witness told officers that one of the alleged perpetrators, Justin Lobato, age 32 of Wagner, South Dakota, pulled out what appeared to be a knife or a screwdriver and began attacking the man. Officers later found both a knife and a screwdriver lying in the area near where the alleged attack took place. Mizner says Lobato was arrested for 2nd degree assault, booked into the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
