Norfolk One-Act to Compete for Class A Crown on Johnny Carson Stage

NORFOLK - “Get Norfolk to Norfolk!”  That was the rallying cry for Norfolk Senior High’s One-Act Play Production, and after winning the district competition Saturday in Kearney, it's mission accomplished.  Norfolk is performing “The Diviners” – about a mentally challenged boy during the 1930s depression, who has a special gift of being able to find water.  Director Taryn Retzlaff says her Norfolk players are honored to compete for a Class A state title the Johnny Carson Theatre stage.  Norfolk is one of four schools vying for the Class A state championship.  The other three: Lincoln High, Lincoln North Star and Gretna have all had success on the stage in recent years.  Gretna is the three-time defending state champ.  Lincoln High leads off the Class A competition at 2:00.  Norfolk follows at 2:45, then it’s Gretna at 3:30 and Lincoln North Star at 4:15.  Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students.
