Norfolk Man Charged With Arson
NORFOLK - A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a Norfolk house fire last month. Norfolk Police Captain Leon Chapman says Joseph W. Kelly, one of the callers who reported the fire, was arrested Wednesday on a second degree arson charge. The fire at 1001 Northdale Drive on the early morning of June 30th was suspicious in nature. It took firefighters three hours to get the blaze under control and extinguished. The house is a total loss. No one was home at the time of the early morning fire and reports were that the house was vacant. Chapman says Kelly was transferred to the Madison County Jail this morning.
