Norfolk Man Arrested for Felony Shoplifting
NORFOLK - A 45-year-old Norfolk man faces charges of felony shoplifting after allegedly taking a bottle of vodka from the downtown HyVee store without paying for it. Police Captain Michael Bauer reports that Vincent Vinson was arrested Wednesday morning after store employees witnessed him concealing a bottle of vodka in his coat and leaving the store without paying for it. The theft was caught on surveillance video just before 10:15 a.m. Shoplifting is considered a felony if the value of items stolen exceeds $200 or if the suspect has two or more prior convictions for shoplifting. Vinson was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
