Norfolk Lifenet Pilot Injured in South Dakota Accident

WINNER, S.D. - The South Dakota State Patrol is reporting that a Lifenet helicopter pilot from Norfolk was injured Friday night in a motorcycle accident south of Presho. Sergeant John Koenig reports that William Jepsen, 52, was southbound on Highway 183 between Presho and Winner when he encountered a deer on the highway. Jepsen suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and was taken to the Winner, South Dakota hospital and later transferred to a larger hospital. No other information on his injuries or condition is known at this time. Koenig says Jepsen was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Trooper J.D. Heinrich investigated the crash.
