Norfolk Junior High, Chamber of Commerce Hold Digital Career Expo

NORFOLK - Students at Norfolk Junior High School received brand new i-pad minis last week and it didn’t take long to start putting them to use.  Officials with the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce worked with Junior High leaders to organize a digital career expo.  The students rotated to different classrooms throughout the afternoon, and hear presentations from representative of the 35 participating companies.  But instead of receiving folders and other handouts, the students already had all of the information, including brochures, pictures and videos on their i-pads.  Chamber Director Dennis Houston says making these types of presentations to junior high students is important because it won’t be long before they’ll be joining the workforce.  The career expo was part of the chamber's Grow Norfolk initiative.
