Norfolk High Band to Give Early Morning Performance
NORFOLK - The Norfolk Senior High School Symphonic Band has earned the honor of being chosen to perform for the Nebraska Music Educators Association at the organization's fall conference and clinic later this week in Lincoln. In preparation for the performance, the band will give a free public concert Wednesday, at the Johnny Carson Theater beginning at 7:30. That’s 7:30 A.M. Doors open at 7 a.m. Band instructor, John Furrow says the early start won’t bother his musicians. They arrive to school early three days-a-week to rehearse, anyway. The band is scheduled to play at the Kimball Recital Hall on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln at 10 a.m, and like the Wednesday morning concert in Norfolk, admission is free.
