Norfolk City Council Approves Planning Commission Public Improvement Plans
NORFOLK - The Norfolk City Council has approved the one and six-year public improvement plans submitted by the Norfolk Planning Commission. Public Works Director Dennis Smithy discussed each of the 11 projects including reconstruction of the bridge near the intersection of Norfolk Avenue and Cottonwood Street. The $1.5 million project is currently set for funding by city tax dollars in 2018, but Smith says if the city can procure some federal monies from the Department of Roads, it could be funded sooner.
