Norfolk Ave. Traffic Lights Back in Service
NORFOLK - You might want to slow down as you drive down Norfolk Avenue in the next few days. The stop lights at 2nd and 3rd Streets are back on. Last spring, the Norfolk City Council voted to turn off those traffic lights after studies determined not enough traffic passed through those intersections to warrant the lights. However, after an abundance of feedback from downtown business owners, residents and shoppers, the council reversed its decision last month and voted to have the lights returned to service. Norfolk City Administrator Shane Weidner asks motorists to be cautious around those intersections. City workers have installed new software for the sets of Norfolk Avenue traffic lights at 2nd and 3rd Streets. They had been had been out of service since last April.
