Norfolk Area Economic Development Council Holds Annual Meeting
NORFOLK - More than 70 Norfolk and Northeast Nebraska business leaders gathered in The Loft in Norfolk yesterday for the Norfolk Area Economic Development Council’s annual meeting. Bill Luttrell of Omaha, a senior location strategist for Warner Global Enterprises, gave the keynote address during which he discussed a variety of topics focusing on what companies look for in potential expansion locations. Economic Development Director Courtney Klein says Norfolk and Northeast Nebraska business leaders are working hard behind the scenes to make the city and region more attractive to businesses looking to expand. She says the region has a great business climate and energy rates, is ideally situated between Interstates 80 and 90, and has rail services. Klein says challenges include natural gas capacity issues and four-lane access to the interstates.
