Norfolk 101 Citizens Academy Slated for March & April

NORFOLK - Have you ever wondered how your city works?  The new Norfolk 101 Citizens Academy is designed to give participants a close-up view of all of the city’s divisions: from police to parks and recreation.  Mayor Sue Fuchtman says the idea came about at a city staff meeting.  Norfolk 101 begins March 4th and will be held each of the next six Tuesday nights from 6 to 9.  Topics range from “The Importance of Zoning” to “Planning for the Future.”  The final session is set for April 21st and will coincide with a meeting of the mayor and city council.  It’s free and there is a limit of 20 seats.  Applications are available on line at ci.Norfolk.ne.us.  City officials ask that anyone who does sign up, be committed to attending each of the sessions.
