Newman Grove Man Pleads Not Guilty to Kidnapping
MADISON (AP) - A Newman Grove man is headed to trial in the kidnapping of a 14-year-old boy. 46-year-old Jose Llerenas-Alvarado pleaded not guilty to kidnapping Thursday in Madison County District Court. A trial is set for Sept. 6. A police affidavit says Llerenas-Alvarado propositioned the teen and his brother June 4 in Newman Grove but they refused and Llerenas-Alvarado forced the teen into his car. The court document says Llerenas-Alvarado drove the boy out of town and attempted to take his clothes off but the boy fled. Llerenas-Alvarado is being held on $950,000 bail. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.
