New Principal Named for Norfolk Senior High
NORFOLK - A new principal has been named at Norfolk Senior High. Superintendent Dr. Jami Jo Thompson announced late Friday that Jake Luhr, currently the interim principal at Senior High, has been selected to replace James Lake. Lake resigned last October, citing philosophical differences with the district. Luhr has been an administrator with Norfolk Public Schools since 2008, serving as the assistant principal at the Junior High, assistant principal at the Senior High, and most recently, as interim principal at the Senior High. He has a master’s degree in educational leadership and is nearing completion of his educational specialist degree, both from Doane College. Superintendent Thompson says Luhr has provided stability at the High School following Lake’s resignation. She says he has established relationships with staff, students and parents. Thompson says the process of selecting a new assistant Senior High principal will begin as soon as the Board of Education officially approves Luhr’s new contract.
