NECC's Board Authorizes Administrators to Negotiate On-Campus Housing
NORFOLK - The Northeast Community College Board of Governors has authorized college administration to look at options to address possible new student housing on campus. The College’s President Dr. Michael Chipps says Northeast hasn’t grown to the degree to which it has the capacity. Chipps says Northeast needs new housing for the 21st centruy student that includes priviate rooms, small kitchens and recreational facilities. More than 350 students currently live on-campus in the college’s residence halls and apartments. Hundreds of other students have their names on a waiting list. Chipps says he hopes more housing will be available in the next year or two.
