Nebraska agriculture conference to focus on tax policy
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Organizers of an agriculture conference in Lincoln say this year's event will focus on state tax policy. The Ag at the Crossroads conference is scheduled for Nov. 7 at the Lancaster Event Center. Registration opens at 8 a.m., and the conference ends at 4 p.m. It's sponsored by the Nebraska Ag Relations Council and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Department of Agricultural Economics. Speakers will include Lt. Gov. Lavon Heidemann and state Sen. Pete Pirsch, a member of the Legislature's Tax Modernization Committee and a Republican candidate for state auditor. The Nebraska Ag Relations Council will also honor Jerry Warner, the chief management officer of Farmers National, of Omaha.
