Muted Fall Colors Expected This Year

LINCOLN - While fall doesn't officially arrive for another two weeks, it's starting to look like autumn in some parts of the state. Leaves on trees that were stressed by drought are starting to change color and are dropping. Forester Mark Vitosh  says during a typical year, the fall colors are at their most brilliant in October. He says the change in leaf color could peak a few weeks earlier this year.
