Man Arrested for Shoplifting Items to Produce Methamphetamine

NORFOLK - A Norfolk man was arrested Friday afternoon for allegedly shoplifting items used in the production of methamphetamine. Norfolk Police Captain Michael Bauer reports that Justin Zohner, 33, was arrested at 3:14 Friday afternoon at Menards, 2311 Taylor Avenue. Menards loss prevention staff reported that Zohner had shoplifted muriatic acid, lye drain cleaner, lithium batteries, instant cold packs and other items.  Bauer says further investigation determined that the cold packs and batteries were actually stolen from Walgreens earlier in the day. Zohner was arrested for two counts of shoplifting, attempt to manufacture methamphetamine and an outstanding Madison County warrant for possession of controlled substance. He was taken to the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
