Man Arrested for Car Theft, 6 Other Charges

NORFOLK - A 29-year-old Norfolk man has been arrested on seven charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle. Police Captain Michael Bauer reports today that Eric Kluthe was arrested Thursday night in the 700 block of South First Street after a short foot pursuit. Residents of the 700 block of South 2nd had earlier reported a suspicious male walking in their neighborhood, acting strangely and undressing.  When he was stopped, Bauer says Kluthe was in a car stolen from Morrissey Motor Company several weeks ago. The vehicle contained several pipes with a residue that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Kluthe was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, driving under the influence of drugs, driving under suspension, obstructing a police officer, resisting arrest and having fictitious plates. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
