Man Arrested for Assault with a Box Cutter
NORFOLK - A 36-year-old Norfolk man faces several charges, including assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony, after another man was cut with a box cutter. Police Captain Michael Bauer reports that 36-year-old Kenneth Smith was arrested in the 900 block of South 16th Street for allegedly cutting the victim on the left side of the neck with a box cutter. The altercation occurred outside the victim’s home at 2006 South 2nd Street shortly before 8 o’clock last night. Bauer says Smith faces charges of second degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, being a felon in possession of a firearm and driving under suspension. He was taken to the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
