Madison County commissioners consider lighting changes to cut costs
MADISON - Madison County is considering replacing lights in several buildings to save money on energy. At Tuesday’s meeting, the County Commissioners discussed an energy audit conducted recently by NPPD. Board Chairman Lee Klein says the county's power bills are significant. He says the audit compares the cost of replacing outdated lighting fixtures with energy savings if more efficient lighting is installed, and the payback times varied from building to building. A rebate is available if the work is completed by the end of the year, so commissioners agreed to further discuss the proposal at their next meeting on October 8th.
