Kansas Man Pleads No Contest to Stanton County Thefts

STANTON - A 48-year-old Kansas man entered a no-contest plea this week in Stanton County District Court to charges of felony theft. Sheriff Mike Unger reports that Kevin Mendenhall was arrested in May along with Mark Kuehn in connection to the theft of two work trailers in Stanton. Kuehn was convicted for his involvement in the thefts and is serving a prison sentence. A third suspect in the case, Ernie Mastny, 62, of Stanton, is still awaiting trial. Mendenhall remains in custody and will be sentenced early in 2014. Unger says he faces up to 20 years in prison.
