Irrigating Soybeans Discussed at Farm Show

NORFOLK - Twelve educational seminars are planned at the 26th annual Northeast Nebraska Farm and Equipment Show January 16th and 17th, and many of them will have to do with managing during a drought. Dr. Jessica Torrion is a researcher at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She will conduct a session on the university's SoyWater project. Torrion says SoyWater is a free, web-based program used primarily for those who irrigate soybeans. Torrion says irrigating soybeans is not like irrigating corn - and much depends on determining the correct stage of development of the soybean plant. Her program will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 16th in the Chuck M. Pohlman Ag Complex at Northeast Community College. The farm show will run from 9 until 5 on January 16th and from 9 to 4 on the 17th. There is no admission charge.
