Intern Program Available for Area Businesses

NORFOLK - Businesses willing to work with a college student are being offered a financial incentive from the State of Nebraska.  Allison Hatch with the Nebraska Department of Economic Development was in Norfolk Wednesday to explain some changes made in the Intern Nebraska program that open the program to both for-profit and non-profit businesses, and to students who either attend a Nebraska college or university or are from Nebraska but attending school in another state.  Hatch says the program will pay 50 percent of an intern’s salary up to $5,000, and that amount is raised to $7,500 if the intern receives a Pell Grant.  For more information on the program, check the website InternNE.com.
