Icy Roads Blamed for Thursday Crash
NORFOLK- Icy road conditions are responsible for an accident that sent a mother and her son to the hospital. Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says on Thursday at approximately 4:45 p.m. his office responded to the accident that occurred about 15 miles east of Norfolk on Highway 275. 45-year-old Anne Ohri from New Orleans, Louisiana and her 19-year-old son John Schatz were passengers in an eastbound pickup that slid on the icy roads and rolled several times, landing in the south ditch. The driver, 47-year-old Brian Ohri was treated the scene. Anne Ohri was taken to Faith Regional Health Services by Stanton Rescue for a neck injury and Schatz was transported by Pilger Rescue for treatment of his injuries. Ohri was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The vehicle is considered a total loss.
