I80 Remains Closed between Utica and Kearney
OMAHA (AP) - A 100-mile stretch of Interstate 80 in Nebraska remains closed as crews work to clear snow pack and rough ice. The Nebraska State Patrol said Thursday that crews are still working to open the stretch of road between Utica and Kearney in the southern part of the state. A timeframe for when it will reopen isn't known. Other parts of the interstate have re-opened, but motorists are still advised to lower their speeds, turn off cruise control and use extreme caution. Some areas are still having visibility problems because of blowing snow. The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for Nebraska through noon Thursday. Iowa is under a blizzard and winter storm watch all day Thursday.
