Hurricane Sandy Spawns Scams

UNDATED - Superstorm Sandy blew up rain, snow and lots of damage - and a new assortment of scams. Nebraska's Better Business Bureau is warning residents to be on the lookout for scams in the wake of Sandy. President Jim Hegarty says this happens every time there is a disaster. Hegarty urges those wishing to make a donation to use only websites associated with legitimate organizations. He says scammers do an amazing job of mimicking websites, so don't fall for e-mail links. And if you receive a text message asking for a donation, Hegarty says to ignore it. More information on charities is available online at bbb.org.
