Honor Flight Is On - Even With Shutdown

UNDATED - An honor flight for Nebraska’s Korean War veterans is scheduled for October 29th. On that day, 136 veterans will be on a plane to Washington, D.C. to see memorials dedicated to their service. Bill Williams is the event organizer. He says no government shutdown will cancel this trip. Williams says he has heard that restrooms at some of the memorials have been closed, and that does present a problem for men of this age. But he says no barricades will keep them from seeing the open air memorials, even if he has to bring a wire cutter along. Williams says a lot can happen in the next three weeks, and he is hoping that issues on Capitol Hill will be resolved so the monuments can reopen.
