Hinrichsen Found Guilty on Two Counts of First Degree Murder

NELIGH - A Ewing man has been found guilty of two counts of first- degree murder in the deaths of an Antelope County couple.  The Attorney General’s office says 33-year-old Matthew Hinrichsen could face two life sentences in the deaths of Victoria Lee and her husband Alex Vargas.  Hinrichsen had dated Victoria before the couple married.  The bodies of the couple were found early the morning of December 8th in their burned mobile home in rural Antelope County.  Experts testified that autopsies indicated Alex died from three gunshot wounds while Victoria had been beaten to death.  An Antelope County District Court jury found Hinrichsen guilty on two counts of first degree murder, one count of possessing a firearm while committing a felony and one count of using a firearm to commit a felony.  Hinrichsen will be sentenced January 28th
