Heating Bills Expected to be Higher This Year
UNDATED - Nebraskans can expect to pay slightly higher heating bills this year. Bruce McDowell is the managing director for policy analysis for the American Gas Association. He says they are predicting that consumers will pay about five percent more to heat their home this year than last. McDowell says the good news is storage is nearly full and there is gas ready to come on the market if higher use occurs. He says the supply of natural gas has more than doubled since 1990. He credits homeowners for weatherizing, using high-efficiency appliances and using programmable thermostats.
