Gubernatorail Candidate Dubas Talks With Norfolk Senior Citizens
NORFOLK - A Democratic candidate for governor of Nebraska has been visiting with a broad spectrum of citizens – including seniors. Annette Dubas was in Norfolk Wednesday to talk with residents of Heritage of BelAir about taxes and tax policy. Dubas says she is waiting to see what the Tax Modernization Committee comes up with for lawmakers to discuss in January. She says any discussion of taxes needs to include talks about spending and increasing revenue. Dubas said aeniors aren't as interested in property taxes as most Nebraskans, but they do have concerns about taxing social security benefits. Dubas says it is important to move forward with any changes in a cautious manner to avoid unintended consequences.
