Ground Breaking For New Area Casino

NIOBRARA (AP) - Officials say they're hoping the new, $20 million casino project that will replace the Ohiya Casino in northeast Nebraska will be ready to open by June. Ground for the new casino was being broken this week. Santee Sioux Tribe officials say the tribe's project includes an entertainment center, 49-room hotel and an 18-hole golf course. The casino sits a few miles east of Niobrara. The Santee tribe is using a loan from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, which operates Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, Minn.
